First of all, I want to say THANK YOU to Jacqueline at https://distantandlocal.blogspot.com for nominating me with this award! I am so grateful for the nomination!!!

Here are the rules for my 15 website nominees:

2. Write a post to show your award
3. Give a brief story of how your blog started
4. Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers
5. Select 15 other bloggers you want to give this award
6. Notify each blogger and let them know you have nominated them and provide the link to the post you created.
Here is my brief story on how I started my blog:
Initially, I started a couple of blogs last year in May 2016 for two reasons. First, I wanted the experience to attract potential clients as a virtual assistant (started my business in August 2016) learn the process of how to create and manage websites again. I had taken a hiatus for several years from the corporate tech world to raise my kids and now wanted to run a business remotely. My second reason was my passion for writing in journals since I was a child seemed like a perfect fit to get back into the tech world and learn social media management.
Thankfully, I did work for a couple of businesses creating websites. Eventually after taking an awesome Virtual Assistant Course, I landed a steady contracting job as a Tech Assistant in December 2016 for a successful e-commerce company. I was thrilled for the opportunity! I loved learning the new tech skills but the hours were 24/7 availability and as a mother and teacher to two elementary-school aged children, it was difficult to balance. However, I continued to be remain loyal and diligent, sacrificing time with my husband and children (they were all very understanding!). Good news came after 5 months: they wanted me to take on another job as a Project Coordinator! Unfortunately, we couldn't come to an agreement on the contract. The great news is we've kept in contact over the past couple of months and I'm thankful for the friendships and experience I obtained during my tenure there!
So here I am now and love being a part of the blogosphere! Honestly, I'm learning something new everyday thanks to all of the Facebook Groups I belong to! And, thanks to ALL of you who have shared a wealth of information! I have enjoyed reading your blogs and it's given me some pointers on the direction of my website in the next few months ahead.
Two pieces of blogging advice to new bloggers are:
1. Be consistent! Set up a schedule to post a certain amount of days a week and make sure it is on the same day and posted on several social media sites. Write up a list of potential blog posts to keep your momentum going.
2. Do something every day that scares you! I saw this quote from Eleanor Roosevelt several months ago and now stick to this principle every day. Part of blogging is being vulnerable and its hard sometimes to open yourself up to the world. Do it anyway!
